Friends of the Library Book Sale
 

The Friends of the Public Library of Johnston County & Smithfield are pleased to announce their 2025 Fall Book Sale, taking place from Wednesday, November 12 through Saturday, November 15 at the public library at 305 East Market Street, Smithfield. This highly anticipated event offers readers of all ages the opportunity to find great books at great prices - all while supporting the library.

The sale will feature a wide selection of gently used books, including fiction, biographies, nonfiction, children's books, cookbooks, history, including some vintage books (1899 to 1960s). The sale will also include DVDs, CDs, and puzzles. All proceeds go directly to supporting the Public Library of Johnston County & Smithfield's programming, resources and materials, community outreach, and more. ​

Special Preview for Friends Members:

Members of the Friends of the Library are invited to an exclusive preview sale on Wednesday, November 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Not a member yet? Join at the book sale or stop by the library for a membership application.

Book Sale Dates and Hours for General Public:

• Thursday, November 13 from 9 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Friday, November 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Saturday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Prices are per book on Thursday and Friday, with Saturday being the $15 bag of books day. Shoppers can pay with either cash or cards.​
