PLJCS welcomes patron suggestions for additions to the collection. Please check the NC Cardinal Catalog to see if your suggestion is already owned by the library or within the consortium, and use this form to request the purchase of something that is not in the collection.

 

Our team will review each request for purchase based on the following criteria:

 

• Publication or release date within the past 2 years but no more than 6 months in the future.

• Professional reviews in one or more standard library review sources.

• Availability in the format requested.

• Demand, relevance, and suitability articulated in the library's Collection Development Policy.

If the Library buys the item that you have suggested, a staff member will place a hold on it for you. It can take several weeks for the order to be processed and the hold to appear on your account.

 

We cannot notify you when items are not selected for purchase due to the amount of requests we receive. Each request is carefully considered and decisions are made based on our Collection Development Policy and available funds.
