Friends of the Library Book Sale

Mark your calendars for the 2026 Fall Friends of the Library Book Sale! More Specific Information to Come!

The Friends of the Public Library of Johnston County & Smithfield are pleased to announce their 2026 Fall Book Sale, taking place from Tuesday, November 3, 2026 through Saturday, November 7, 2026. The sale will be held at the library located in Downtown Smithfield at 305 East Market Street. This highly anticipated event offers readers of all ages the opportunity to find great books at great prices, all while supporting the library.

The sale will feature a wide selection of gently used books, including fiction, biographies, nonfiction, children's books, cookbooks, history, including some vintage books. The sale will also include DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and puzzles. All proceeds go directly to supporting the Public Library of Johnston County & Smithfield's programming, resources and materials, community outreach, and more.

Members of the Friends of the Library are invited to an exclusive preview sale (date and time to be announced soon). Not a member yet? Join at the book sale or stop by the library for a membership application.

Prices are per book with the exception of Saturday, which is typically the $15 bag of books day (FOL will provide the bag). Shoppers can pay with either cash or cards.
