Public Access Computers

The Public Library of Johnston County & Smithfield provides 10 public access computers on the first floor, next to the Patron Services Desk. No reservation in advance is required. Patrons with a library card can use their library card number to get logged in on a computer. Patrons without a library card can speak with a library staff member to get a pass code to get logged in on a computer.
Computers offer multiple browser options, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and printing capabilities. Library staff will not provide extensive technology help, only limited troubleshooting services will be available.
Helpful tips:

Bring a USB stick/flash drive to transfer and save files.

Bring headphones if you need to view videos or need sound.
