PLJCS Summer Reading

Mark Your Calendars for 2026 Summer Reading at PLJCS!
Get ready to dig into adventure this summer! Our 2026 Summer Reading theme, "Unearth a Story," invites readers of all ages to explore the past, uncover hidden tales, and discover worlds buried beneath the surface.
This year's theme celebrates curiosity, discovery, and the thrill of finding something new. As in the past, we will be offering families in our community the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). CSLP is a consortium of state libraries and public library systems working together to provide high-quality summer reading program materials for children, teens, adults, and families.
Our Summer Reading Program will run from June 1 - July 31, so make plans to join us. Stay tuned for programs, activities, and reading challenges that are sure to make this a dino-mite summer!
This year's programs will include:
-
A reading/activity log that readers use at home to track their progress toward an age-appropriate reading goal, earning incentives and prizes for participation.
-
Activities and events happening at the library or available as take-home kits in support of the theme. These include storytimes, active play/music/movement activities, crafts, snacks, book clubs, special presenters, game nights, and more.
-
Library activities are no cost and offered to children (ages 0-12), teens (ages 13-18), and adults (ages 18 and up).
We hope you will join us for summer events at the library. Check back soon for our 2026 PLJCS Summer Reading Guide!
