Youth Services Program Calendar 

Discover a world of fun, learning, and creativity! Our Youth Services Calendar is your go-to guide for fun events and programs happening in the library for kids ages birth through preteen. Click on calendar event titles to see full descriptions of each program as well as registration requirements and instructions (if applicable).

Recurring Youth Services Programs

Storytime (Ages 0-5)

Storytime is every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and consists of songs, American Sign Language, movement, and reading all lasting approximately 30-minutes.

 

Activity and sensory tables are available after the first portion of storytime for children to color, play with toys, or use the sensory bins.

 

Content is geared toward ages 0-5.​​

Monday at the Movies  (All Ages)

Join the Youth Services Department on Mondays, starting at 3:00 p.m. for movie showings in the Multipurpose Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the library.

 

Movie Schedule:

  • Monday, October 20: Disney/PIXAR's Monsters, Inc. (rated G; approximately 93 minutes). Synopsis: A little girl accidentally enters the land of monsters, where she befriends two creatures who work at a "scare factory." Billy Crystal and John Goodman lend their voices to this computer-animated comedy from the creators of "Toy Story."

  • Monday, October 27: Double Feature of Scooby-Doo: Episodes: "A Night of Fright Is No Delight" & "Bedlam in the Big Top" (rated TV-G; approximately 42 minutes). Synopsis: "A Night of Fright Is No Delight" - An eccentric colonel leaves part of his fortune to Scooby Doo on the condition that he spend the night in a castle haunted by green phantoms. Synopsis "Bedlam in the Big Top" - A ghost clown is haunting Mr. Blackstone's circus, and all the acts are quitting. It's up to the kids to stop the clown and find out if he's really a ghost.

  • Monday, November 3: Mary Poppins (rated G; approximately 140 minutes). Synopsis: A stiff banker searches for a nanny for his two mischievous children in London in the early 1900s. After dismissing several unsuitable prospects, a young woman descends from the sky and manages to enlighten the lives of everyone she meets. Disney favorite won five Academy Awards in all.

  • Monday, November 17: Homeward Bound (rated G; approximately 85 minutes). Synopsis: Three pets--a wise old dog named Shadow, a young excitable dog named Chance and a snobby feline named Sassy--escape from a California ranch and embark on a dangerous quest to find their owners. The pets must work together to survive the elements and find their way home.

  • Monday, November 24: The Peanuts Movie (rated G; approximately 88 minutes). Synopsis: Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and friends embark on an epic adventure while Snoopy tracks down the Red Baron, his nemesis.​​

Discovery Dance Party! (Ages 0-8)

Join the Youth Services Department for a fun dance party paired with other fun activities!

 

Family friendly event most appropriate for ages 0-8 but all ages are welcome. Feel free to celebrate the spooky season by coming in costume!​​
