Please note the upcoming closures for the holiday season:

December 11: Closing at 5:00 p.m. for the Smithfield Christmas Parade

December 24 - 27: Closed for Christmas

January 1: Closed for New Year's Day

January 17 & 19: Closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Our materials return bins will be open, but feel free to hold on to your materials a little longer, as we do not charge overdue fines and we offer auto-renewals. As always, our smart lockers will remain open during the holiday for pickup of held materials. E-books and e-audiobooks are also available in the Libby app by using your library card and PIN (last four-digits of the phone number associated with your library account).
New Library Card Design Unveiled!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our beautiful new library card design!
The new look features a whimsical watercolor design of books that celebrates the joy of reading. Cards also include the locations of all Johnston County affilitated libraries.
Please note: If you currently have an older card design, you do not need to get a new one right away! Your old card remains valid and will continue to work for all library services.
