Color Our World!
The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield is excited to launch its 2025 Teen Summer Reading Program with the art-centered theme of "Color Our World." See the information below for more details about our teen summer reading program. Participation in our summer program could earn you a prize! See the information below for more details.
Reading Logs & Stamp Cards:

Reading logs and stamp cards will be available beginning June 2nd at the Patron Services Desk.

Reading logs and stamp cards will be available throughout the summer.

Participants will use the reading logs at home to track their progress towards meeting reading goals and earning stamps.

Each log includes circles to record every 20 minutes of reading time. Participants should record the date in each circle as reading is completed.

Participants can earn a stamp for every hour of reading time.

Participants can also earn a stamp for each library program/event attended.

Stamps and stamp cards will be used as entries to win the grand prize. The more stamps you earn, the better your chances are to win the grand prize!

The deadline to turn in all reading logs and stamp cards is July 31st, 2025 at 5 p.m.

The grand prize winner will be announced and contacted in early August.
Grand Prize:
One grand prize winner will receive the Vincent van Gogh - The Starry Night LEGO Set.
Calendars:
We have many fun events planned for teens in June and July, along with book club meetings. Please note the following about events on the teen summer reading calendar:

Some events require registration and will be marked with a red "R" on the calendar.

To register for events marked with a red “R,” email Skye at spoole@pljcs.org or fill out the corresponding Google Form by scanning the QR code.

Additionally, patrons can click the link here to access all registration links in one place.

If an event registration is full, we will update on our summer reading webpage, socials, and website homepage events calendar at www.pljcs.org.

Events may be subject to cancellation or change and updates will be posted on all of our communication channels.
